PROVENANCE OF THE LOTS:

This list details the provenance of the lots as well as a brief description of the cellars. A cellar is suitable for proper wine storage if it meets specific preservation criteria: high humidity and a low, constant temperature. The lots in this sale are appraised, inspected, and inventoried prior to the catalog’s finalization. Certain cellars are noted as isolated.

Cellar 1: All bottles of Yquem offered in this sale were repackaged at the château, notably in 1985 and 1994. These operations are documented in the family archives (direct correspondence between the cellar’s owner and Alexandre de Lur-Saluces, guaranteeing the authenticity, integrity, and quality of preservation of these historic bottles). The family will supplement this collection with select purchases of rums, whiskeys, and Chartreuses: Nos. 1 through 66.

Cellar 2 : Excellent private collection. Wines stored under perfect conditions: 76 to 78, 81, 100, 103, 106, 107, 111, 123, 124, 201, 219, 228, 233, 234, 255, 256.

Cellar 3 : Wines and spirits preserved in excellent conditions in a Parisian cellar by two generations of wine enthusiasts: 92 to 95, 97 to 99, 101, 102, 104, 105, 108, 109, 110, 116, 118, 120, 121, 148, 152, 154, 155, 156, 158, 166–175, 177–189, 191, 195, 197–200, 202–209, 212–218, 220–227, 230–232, 235, 238, 241, 244, 246, 247, 253, 254, 257–259.

Cellar 4: Awonderful selection of wines, passionately selected and stored by a wine enthusiast in a cellar in the Paris region: 67, 69, 71, 73–75, 82–86, 88–91, 96, 112, 115, 117, 119, 127 through 145, 149, 150, 151, 153, 160 through 165, 176, 190, 192–194, 196, 210, 211, 229, 236, 237, 242, 243, 245.

Cellar 5: Wines stored in an excellent cellar in the Paris region: 72, 113, 114, 125, 126, 147, 157, 159, 248 through 252.
