Original artwork for this edition of Benjamin Constant's text illustrated with aquatints by painter Bernard GANTNER (1928-2018). Finally, the engraving on the frontispiece is marked on the verso as a first edition, produced on Gantner's hand press in Belfort. Enriched with a 4-page in-8 LAS by Gantner, about the book, addressed to the typographer responsible for printing the book, Pierre Jean Mathan or Pierre Bouchet, as well as 4 copies of the menu illustrated with an aquatint by Gantner. Spine of slipcase slightly browned. Provenance: Pierre Jean Mathan Collection.
