Magnificent edition of this tale from The Jungle Book, illustrated with over 120 compositions by Paul JOUVE (1878-1973). The illustration was wood-engraved in color by Camille Beltrand in collaboration with Pierre Bouchet. It includes a figure on the title, an initials, 8 compositions in the text, 10 full-page, 3 double-page, and 96 headbands, 33 of which are different. Edition of 185 copies on japon impérial. A chapel copy, that of the printer and engraver Pierre Bouchet and then of Pierre Jean Mathan, his successor, without the cover or the justification leaf. It was enriched with two signed letters from Paul Jouve for the reception of 20 copies of the book, as well as 10 sheets of printer's proofs. Mottling and some wear to dust jacket. Some wetness on the edges of a few leaves.
