DALI (Salvador). Babaouo. Paris: Centre culturel de Paris, [1978]. - In-folio, 376 x 280: (2 blank ff.), XVII pp, (2 ff. first blank), pp. 19-68, (6 ff. third blank), illustrated cover. Burgundy basane, central gilt and cold-stamped motif after Salvador Dali framed by gilt and cold-stamped fillets on the first cover, reproduction of the artist's signature gilt-stamped in the center of the second cover, decorated spine with false nerves, gilt head, untrimmed, cover retained, slipcase (Renaissance du Livre). Beautiful work entirely composed by Salvador DALI (1904-1989), illustrated with 7 full-page woodcuts in black, a gouache collage on the cover and a full-page etching in color. The woodcuts were engraved by Guy Descouens and printed by Pierre Jean Mathan. Limited edition of 403 copies plus a few artist's copies, signed by Dali at the justification. This is one of the rare artist's copies on Arches vellum, from the collection of Pierre Jean Mathan. Spine faded.
