Rare first separate edition of this treatise on gnomonics, taken from the Cours de mathématique published by mathematician Jacques Ozanam (1640-1718) in 1693. It is illustrated with 30 copper-engraved plates. Missing headpieces, heavy wear, corners dulled, hinges cracked. Light stain on bottom of title. Provenance: P. Missing headpieces, rubbing and spotting, dull corners, halo on first board. Provenance: Louis Marie Marmayou, with handwritten bookplate on title, dated 1770. - Grand-Homme fils, with autograph stamp and signature.
