Brown calf, gilt coat of arms in center of boards, ornate ribbed spine, speckled edges (period binding).set of the first 5 volumes of this collection of the best plays performed at the Saint-Germain and Saint Laurent fairs. There are over forty plays, many by Alain-René Lesage. The first 3 volumes come from the L'Honoré et Chatelain edition, and the next two from Étienne Ganeau. The illustrations consist of a frontispiece and 46 plates. There are also 312 pages of engraved music. A good copy with later gilded arms, probably German or Austrian, on the boards. Head cover of first volume missing, rubbed in use. Browning to first and last leaves, some scattered foxing. Provenance: gilded arms on boards. - Mention " Grammat. Poët.
