Bruno GADENNE (Born 1990) El Rio Dulce rojo, 2021 Oil on canvas Signed and dated on the back 39 x 49 cm (view) (restorations at the top) This painting follows a three-month solo trip by the artist to Central America, on the trail of Mayan temples. Based on a small gouache made aboard his canoe in the middle of the jungle crossed by a river, this view of the Rio Dulce was enlarged and revisited in oil, on paper, in his studio in Poush (Aubervilliers). The artist transformed the luminous atmosphere to create this mysterious, inviting and almost menacing red vision. Bruno Gadenne (1990), after studying at the Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg, settled in the Paris region for 10 years, notably at the Poush studios, thanks to the support of the Fond de Dotation agnès b. He works with galleries in France (notably Galerie Prima in Paris) and abroad (Gowen Contemporary in Geneva, Dumonteil Gallery in Shanghai). He now lives and works in the Creuse region of France. Bruno Gadenne's paintings revolve around his solitary journeys through primary forests and underwater coral reefs: the result is wild landscapes and scenes, shrouded in an eerie strangeness and dreamlike colors.
