Two large silk "Manila" shawls decorated with flowers, birds and figures, China, Canton, early 20th century One with a square beige background, embroidered with large peonies and scrolls of small flowers in each corner, leaving the center less worked. In two of the corners, among the peonies, scenes depicting figures seated in a garden with servants holding fans near the terrace of a tiered pagoda have been embroidered. The other has a gray-beige background and is square-shaped, embroidered with polychrome threads in a large central square surrounded by a frieze of peonies, camellias, roses and various other flowers. Long bangs border both textiles. Dim. without bangs: 150 x 150 and 125 x 125 cm (stains, small threads pulled)
