Manila" shawl in beige silk decorated with birds and flowers, China, Canton, early 20th century Rectangular in shape, embroidered with polychrome silks and decorated with numerous birds perched or in flight among bamboo, branches of peony flowers, magnolias, roses and other varieties. A crane stands with its feet in the water. On the lower right is embroidered in purple the inscription: 利 ? 遮 . The textile is trimmed with pompom fringe. Dim. without fringe: 222 x 200 cm (some stains)
