White porcelain "Loving cup" with polychrome enamel decoration of flowers, China, Compagnie des Indes, 18th century The body, decorated in the famille rose style with a spray of flowers surrounded by four florets on each side, is flanked by two twisted handles and rests on a downward-flaring pedestal decorated with small flowers. The lid, decorated with flowers, is topped by a fruit-shaped knob with leaves. This type of bowl, whose shape is directly inspired by a European silver model, was used for banquets or weddings, the double handles allowing it to be held by two people. H. 25 cm (one handle restored)
