All his life, he has been fascinated by figurative art and its history.
As a teenager, he took painting lessons with the painter Gerard Langlet (Peintres témoins de leur temps) and his wife. He went on to study medicine, becoming a doctor of dental surgery, but never forgot his artistic vocation, nourished by extensive reading and travel.Alongside his profession, he took part in courses at the studio of Reims painter Pierre Marcel Aerts, then attended drawing and sculpture classes at the École des Beaux-Arts de Reims with Philippe Drouart and sculptor Charles Auffret. He set up a studio in his home and from 1994 devoted himself full-time to his passion, drawing in sanguine, ink, chalk, charcoal and pastel. His research is constant, as are his well-balanced, powerful sculptures.
He devoted himself to it until his death in 2006. His work was exhibited between 1998 and 2004, and he received several awards.
