Mouth open in great laughter, blinking eyes marked by a thin, very curved slit giving it a hilarious expression, teeth showing, prominent nose and parabolic wrinkles on the forehead and top of the skull, it is covered in red-tinted gofun and depicts the character Kotokuraku. Inside, a red lacquer inscription 舞楽面正倉院写 , Bugaku mask Inspired by Shosoin. Japan, 19th century H. 25.5 cm - L. 18 cm (many missing parts in the gofun)

Magasinage Drouot: Any item/lot remaining in the auction room the day after the sale at 10 a.m., and not picked up by the auction company, is stored in the Magasinage department of Hôtel Drouot. Access via 6bis rue Rossini - 75009 Paris. Open Monday to Friday from 1.30 pm to 6 pm and Saturdays from 8 am to 10 am. The shopping service is subject to a fee, payable by the purchaser. Rates as of November 25, 2023 are as follows:

Processing fees, depending on the nature of the lot (€5 / €10 / €15 / €20 / €25 incl. VAT), capped at €100 incl. VAT per withdrawal.

Daily storage and insurance fees, from the 3rd working day, depending on the nature of the lot (€1 / €5 / €10 / €15 / €20).

A 50% discount on storage fees is granted to foreign customers and art market professionals outside the Paris region, on presentation of proof.

After one calendar year, lots will be stored outside the Hôtel Drouot warehouse.

Nicolas Nouvelet Commissaire-Priseur cannot be held responsible in any way whatsoever for storage at the Hôtel des ventes.

Study return :

Lots subject to a study return may be collected from Thursday 21 March 2024 at our office: 80, rue du Rocher 75008 Paris

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 12:30pm and 2pm to 5:30pm.

Lots can only be collected on presentation of proof of identity in the buyer's name.
