ATELIER RENÉ SCHMITT (1896-1951) CABINETMAKER & DECORATOR - MODEL DESIGNED FOR MAISON JANSEN Rare neoclassical chest of drawers entirely adorned with mirror plates with beveled edges. The trapezoidal body, with truncated front corners, rests on four Gaine-type legs and opens with three drawers on the front. Each leg is supported by a bronze shoe, and features a capital formed by a gold-patinated electroplated ring. The circular, pearled drawer grips are also in gold-patinated electroplating. Circa 1940-1945. H. 88 cm - W. 120 cm - D. 42 cm Scattered stains on the sheen of certain mirror plates, minor accidents and missing parts. Provenance : Schmitt family collection.
