Kapala, tantric ritual bowl, consisting of a silver bowl in the shape of an inverted skullcap, covered by a domed lid in gilded copper with repoussé decoration of a double crossed vajra topped by a half-vajra-shaped socket. The flat edge of the lid is decorated with waves. The top is decorated with flames, the middle band with three fierce heads and the base with scrolls. Tibet, 18th-19th century.
