Tripod incense burner with a golden-brown patina, the feet in the shape of elephant heads, the body decorated in relief with floral scrolls. The handles are shaped like pachyderm horns. The lid is openworked with flowery foliage, and the handle depicts a richly caparisoned elongated elephant on which stands, hands clasped, the Indian representation of the monkey god Hanuman. Six-character apocryphal Xuande mark below. The elephant's caparison is missing. China 18th-19th century H. 36 cm
