* Iron tsuba of sumi iri kaku gata form (square with notched corners), in the nanban style and decorated with gold-inlaid scrolls on the edges. The decoration depicts, on one side, two bifid dragons facing each other in the clouds in pursuit of the sacred pearl (hōju no tama) placed above the seppadai, and on the other side a bifid dragon and a hōju no tama supported by the clouds. This motif is characteristic of nanban-style tsuba. Japan, mid-Edo period H. 8 cm - L. 7.2 cm
