Total length: 126 cm and terrace 110 x 42 cm The model of this crocodile is listed in the catalog of Société Anonyme des Hauts-Fourneaux et Fonderies du Val-D'Osne under number 255 on plate 646. Founded in 1836 by Jean-Pierre-Victor André, the Val d'Osne foundry specialized in monumental art castings. For the 1851 World's Fair in London, the foundry explored the animal register and presented a fountain topped by a crocodile, which was praised by the jury. The original catalog in which the model of this crocodile appears will be given to the future buyer.
